The Conservative MP's relationship with the banking heiress precipitated the end of his 11-year-marriage to former wife Sheherazade.
"He was in no rush to get married again after the acrimony and cost of the divorce, but he now feels that the time is right for him and Alice,” a friend of Goldsmith, commented to Mandrake. "The news has been welcomed by both his and Alice’s family and their many friends, including, of course, David Cameron."
Goldsmith admitted adultery in his divorce papers.
