Bride Jailed After Stealing Money To Pay For Lavish Wedding

A bride who stole from her employer to pay for her wedding has been jailed for 20 months.

30-year-old Kirsty Lane stole £168,000 from the firm's bank account and transferred it into her own and her future husband's account.

Lane married Graham Lane, 36, at the Great Hall at Mains hotel near Blackpool in January last year.

Her boss, Peter Sutton, became suspicious after he attended the lavish events.

At Preston Crown Court, Judge Pamela Badley said: "This was a cynical exploitation of the small company for which you worked."

As well as paying for a wedding, Lane also used the stolen money to pay for a number of home improvements.

Mr Lane was acquitted of any wrongdoing after a retrial in May.
