The Eighth Annual Cheap Chic Weddings Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest saw the creation of over 700 dresses.
Participants were required to construct their wedding dresses out of nothing more than toilet paper, tape, glue and/or needle and thread. It took between 10 and 50 rolls of various strengths to create each gown.
The finale in New York saw Michigan native Susan Brennan take the throne and a $2,012 prize. She was joined by runner-up Katrina Chalifoux, who received $1,000, and Jennifer Henry, placed third, winning $500.
The annual contest eight years ago based on the popular bridal shower game. As the contest has increased in popularity from year to year, so has the level of competition.
"The quality of talent that presents itself each year always amazes us," said Susan Bain, one of the founders of Cheap Chic Weddings. "This year's entries included several dresses that had intricate details like faux embroidery, ruffles, pleats and even lace effects."
Laura Dressman, P&G External Relations Manager, added: "We're inspired by these dresses and couldn't imagine a better way to showcase the brand in a fun and unique way. Congratulations to Susan Brennan and all the finalists on their fantastic designs."
The models described the dresses as unusually heavy but comfortable to wear.
