According to The Mirror, Collins is said to have been set up with her new partner by her niece.
The 51-year-old Coronation Street actress has reportedly been dating shop worker Mike Davison for four months and a source said: "It is still very early days, but Mike thinks Michelle is absolutely amazing. He's always had a bit of a thing for older women and fancied her after seeing her on Corrie."
They added: "He is a good pal of Michelle's niece and asked her to introduce them. They clicked immediately. Mike's a great looking guy and very mature for his age. He has introduced her to his friends and he has met a few of hers. Things are going great and they are both really happy."
Motorbike enthusiast Davison, who runs his own men's fashion store, reportedly lives just a few miles from Collin's London home.
Recently Collins spoke of a new romance, saying: "I don't want to tempt fate by talking about my personal life. I want to avoid the curse of celebrity magazines, where as soon as people reveal how blissfully in love they are it all falls apart! All I'll say is I'm enjoying life right now."
