50% Of Singletons 'Like Tattoos On A Partner'

According to new research, 50% of single people find tattoos are an attractive quality in a potential partner.

The survey, which was carried out by Cupid.com, also revealed that 35% of men feel a woman with a tattoo is indicative of how exciting she is, while a quarter of women say the same for men.

A further three-quarters of respondents admitted they wouldn't ask their new partner to cover up their tattoos if their parents didn't approve, but there are exceptions, depending on what the tattoo is.

For example, the 'love' and 'hate' knuckle tattoos were not popular, nor was artwork relating to an ex-partner, as 57% of men said they are not happy being reminded of the man before them every time they look at their girlfriend.

For women, 62% said they didn't mind the 'ex' tattoo on a man however.

When it comes to the tattoos that are 'attractive' to a potential partner, 35% of women said they like their date to have an arm, back or shoulder tattoo, while 26% of men would like to see a lower back tattoo on their partner. A further 22% said a tattoo on their partner's bum is appealing.

Both men and women were in agreement when it came to formal events, such as a wedding, with 59% saying tattoos should be covered over as they aren't appropriate with formal dress.
