A spokesperson for the singer confirmed the news, but insisted the split was "amicable", and no-one else was involved in the decision.
The news was first reported in The Sun on Sunday newspaper, with a source explaining: "Kylie and Andres haven't spent much time together because she's been holed up in a studio in LA working on her new album.
"He's also been trying to carve out an acting career for himself. When she signed up for 'The Voice' [UK] they knew they couldn't cope with the long-distance pressures the job would put on them."
The singer had previously described her partner as "the one".
She said:"He's the one. Sound the alarm, four years. I think it's a record. I'm pretty settled."
Minogue, 45, and Velencoso, 35, had been in a relationship for five years before their break-up.
