The 62-year-old actress and her director husband decided to go their separate ways six months ago, following 20 years of marriage, but TMZ has said Seymour has now filed legal papers.
Papers submitted at the LA County Superior Court reveal the actress has cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind the separation, but has not asked for spousal support. She has, however, requested joint custody of the couple's 17-year-old twin sons, John and Kristopher.
When the couple first announced their split, they issued a joint statement to Us Weekly, which read: "Jane Seymour and James Keach confirm that they are separated and have been for several months. At this time they are negotiating the terms of their divorce.
"They will continue their relationship as devoted parents to their children, as business associates and partners, and in their joint dedication to preserving and furthering the charitable endeavours that they've worked on throughout their marriage."
Seymour met Keach – her fourth husband – on the set of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. In 1993, the couple tied the knot and their twin sons were born in November 1995.
