In 2002, after the singer appeared on ITV talent show Pop Idol, the pair slept together. Price later went to the tabloids to expose their affair, but Gates denied it had ever happened.
He later came clean about the fling, and in a recent interview with The Sun, the 29-year-old admitted that while he doesn't regret their dalliance, he does regret lying about it.
He said: "I don't regret sleeping with Jordan. It was an amazing time. I wish I hadn't lied about though.
"I have never spoken about my personal relationships with anyone and had no intention of doing so until now."
When he was then pressed on why he got involved with the model, he replied: "At the end of Pop Idol I did have a brief relationship with Jordan. I was 17 years old... I was pursued by her.
"I was bemused as to why she went to the press as I see relationships as private."
Gates has always remained secretive about his relationships. In 2002, he met Suzanne Mole and the pair started dating. They couple announced their engagement on New Years Eve in 2007 and were married the following July in a small, intimate ceremony. In April 2009, they welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Missy.
On October 2012, Gates revealed that he and Suzanne were no longer together.
