For weeks the former couple have exchanged swipes at each other, but earlier this week, things took a distinctly nasty turn on the social networking site.
On Sunday evening, Williams posted a cryptic message, which read: "When the fuse runs out the bomb goes off." It was accompanied by an emoticon of a bomb. He then followed it up with: "Big day tomorrow", again an image of a bomb exploding.
The following morning, 32-year-old McLean appeared to indirectly address her ex's messages, writing: "Happy Monday! Let's see what today brings and if some people really have no heart."
This only served to annoy Williams however, who then directly tweeted his former partner, saying: "@NicolaMcLean Let's call it Mad Monday – Let's see what today brings shall we."
He then went on a rant against McLean and her former agent Claire Powell.
"Wow making up a story about a miscarriage to generate PR has got to be seriously low. @NicolaMcLean @ClaireAtCan @RevealMag 1/2
"All those poor families that have to go thru that trauma you have nerve to put out a fake story – disgusting @NicolaMcLean @ClareAtCan 2/2 (sic)".
When his tweets received no reply, he added: "@NicolaMcLean for someone with an opinion on everything you have gone very quiet?"
The mum-of-two has yet to publicly respond to the claims, but a representative slammed the allegations, and labelled Williams a "bullying liar".
In August, McLean confirmed the couple's marriage had come to an end after her partner allegedly cheated on her while he was in Las Vegas.
The pair had tied the knot in June 2009. They have two sons together, Rocky, eight, and four-year-old Striker.
