The news was shared by their co-stars Bobby Norris and Danielle Armstrong in an interview with Reveal. However, both Norris and Armstrong said they believe the couple could still get back together – again.
Dan and Kate had been in a long-term relationship until last year when Dan decided to join the cast of TOWIE. His ex later joined the show as well and the couple reunited. However, their romance was said to have been in trouble after Kate accused her partner of failing to prioritise her in his life. They worked through their issues and went on a romantic holiday to Mexico. Yet it was this holiday that made them realise they needed to spent some time apart.
Speaking to Reveal, Danielle admitted: "They went to Mexico on holiday, and I'm quite close to Kate, when she got back she did say that things weren't that great then. When they got back, they both decided that they needed to have a break.
"It's a weird one with them two. I remember meeting Dan when I was 21. They had only just got together, they worked in Ibiza together. They were like the hot couple in Ibiza; it was like Barbie and Ken. He's got such a beautiful face and her figure! That was like six years ago now, and they were together strong for five years."
Her co-star Bobby added: "I don't think we're writing them off, we can see them having another shot."
