Jeremy McConnell has insisted that he will ask for a paternity test once his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Davis gives birth.
The couple had a short-lived and often turbulent relationship earlier this year after meeting on Celebrity Big Brother. After they separated for good in May, Davis announced that she was pregnant with McConnell's child; however, this is a claim he has repeatedly denied. He has now said that he will take a paternity test to discover once and for all, who is telling the truth.
Speaking to the Daily Star Online, he said: "I was in a position where we broke up for a period of time. I found out she was pregnant, but in the meantime I knew she was with other people."
He added that if the test proves that he is the father, he will "step up".
"I can't do anything while the baby's in there," he said. "When it comes out I would step up to the plate. All I want is clarification. If I find out it's mine I'll be the best dad."
