DIY Weddings 'Growing Trend'

When it comes to weddings, the average cost of one can be staggering.

According to Brides magazine's 2011 study the average wedding cost hovers around £17,069.

Also in the same range, The Knot reports that the average wedding costs about £17,906. Either way, it's a tough number to reach for many couples. To combat rising wedding costs, many couples are steering away from some of the more traditional wedding essentials and instead, making them themselves using do-it-yourself guidebooks, recipes, and kits.

Some of the most popular items couples are DIY-ing are paper goods, as they are essential to a wedding but often eat up a fair amount of budget. Invitations, save the dates, programs, program fans, and decorations are all easy to create at home when one has the right materials, such as a printer or different coloured craft paper.

Daisy-Days.com, an online wedding favour and wedding supply retailer, has noticed the growth in DIY weddings and is looking to help couples save more through a new store offering. The online store has just launched an expanded selection of DIY wedding supplies, helping couples to create the wedding of their dreams using affordable materials, time, and a little bit of creativity.

In the newly created DIY Wedding section, Daisy-Days.com is offering a variety of do-it-yourself wedding decoration and invitation kits to make creating wedding details easier for couples. DIY wedding invitations, photo booth backdrops, DIY decorative paper flag banner bunting kits, DIY wedding favor kits, DIY program fans, and DIY wedding programs are just a sampling of the new product line. As for quality, Daisy-Days.com notes that the DIY wedding supplies it offers includes many options from top wedding designers like Laura Ashley and Kate Aspen.

DIY weddings are a big trend to watch for 2011 weddings. As more couples get handy with DIY

wedding paper products, Daisy-Days.com expects that the trend will also move toward other areas of the wedding, such as dresses, floral arrangements, and even the wedding cake.
