The Duchess of Windsor has been revealed as the inspiration for Nancy Shevell's wedding dress.
The American heiress who married Paul McCartney on Sunday in the Old Marylebone Town Hall, London, wore a dress modelled on the high-necked, long-sleeved gown Wallis Simpson wore when she married the Duke of Windsor in 1937.
The dress - designed by Macca's daughter Stella - was the first of three outfits according to wedding guest Barbara Walters.
Speaking on American talk show The View, Walters revealed that the bride changed into a plum dress for the reception in the former Beatles' home. Later in the evening the couple changed again into jeans and t-shirts.
