The letters and cards have come from all around the word to St James's Palace and a team of people are writing back to every individual letter.
A source told The Daily Record: "There has been a vast, vast amount.
"It was just lovely, given that they were all supportive messages, whether it be cards or little letters.
"There's a team working on it and everyone who wrote in got a response.
"But there's only one small team and they had a lot to get through. It did take a while to reply to everything.
"There were two distinct waves of correspondence - just after the engagement and just before the wedding."
The Royal couple are said to be 'overwhelmed' by the response.
The Queen and Prince Philip were sent 10,000 telegrams after their 1947 wedding.
