Clare Dickinson started a holiday friendship with Pascal Bernard when she was in France for a family get-a-way in 1989. She was only 12-years-old and Pascal was 15-years-old.
After heading home from the vacation the duo heard nothing from each other for 18 years until Clare returned to Royan in south-west France in 2007.
Clare was surprised to see Pascal by chance when she returned to France but the couple swiftly fell in love and Clare, now 34, moved to France and married Bernard last month.
She said:"Everyone comments on what a fairytale story we have, but it's not just a story to us. It's our life and our love has a stronger bond than I could ever imagined."
"I have made huge life changes for the man I love, some people say to me that I have given up so much for Pascal but I don't see it like that."
