Mass Wedding Held For 25 Couples

A mass wedding ceremony has been held at Sialkot, Islamabad.

A total of 25 couples tied the knot during the ceremony conducted by the Bukhari Relief Foundation and SHADE.

More than 5000 were in attendance including parents, relatives of brides and grooms and other dignitaries.

According to religious scholar Mufti Ismail Toro: "Mass wedding ceremonies are economically viable and boon for those who can hardly make their both ends meet, bear domestic expenses and unable to afford the expensive event of wedding."

This is the eighth programme of mass weddings in Pakistan.

Also in attendance at the wedding event were Pakistan's Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Aashiq Awan, Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah, Indonesian Ambassador and wife of Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan.
