When Joyce McDevitt, 64, a former teaching assistant married her husband David, 64, a former miner, in July, she didn't want to leave anyone out, The Daily Mail reports.
"I’m from a big family and I just couldn’t choose who to have as my bridesmaids. I didn’t want to offend anybody," she told the newspaper. "So I had 30 bridesmaids and it was an unusual sight when we got to the church.
"Not all the guests realised that I was having so many bridesmaids - so it was a bit of a shock for them."
The pair tied the knot at Holy Trinity Church in Wath, Rotherham.
The 30 bridesmaids paid for their own dresses although the couple bought their bouquets.
