"Obviously, I thought a bit about my ex-wife and the past when I was in the jungle, but I looked back on what we had with nothing but fond memories," Peter wrote in his New magazine column.
"It made me feel a bit sad that things didn't work out and I wish it hadn't ended the way it did, but when I think about the beautiful children we had as a result of being on the show, I have no regrets.
"I know I made the right decision in my life and I could never go back, but I do really hope we'll be friends."
The pair met on the ITV1 reality series in 2004. Andre married Katie Price on 10 September 2005. They have two children - a son, Junior Savva Andre and a daughter, Princess Tiaamii Andrea. They divorced in 2009, after three and a half years of marriage.
