Wedding Venue Aims For A Full House

A Bingo hall in Stalybridge plans to hit the jackpot by becoming the first in the country to win a wedding license.

Cosmo Bingo regularly pull in a full house on hen nights and want to provide vegas style nuptials.

Manager Keith Lee told The Manchester Evening News: "It certainly would be a wedding with a difference.

"We can tailor it to provide an area for bingo tables for guests or they can go down to the games room. We already get plenty of hen parties coming in here because they like to start the night by coming to the bingo.

"We would be cheaper than the bigger venues, or a big country house."

Keith continued: "Somebody down south has done it, but not up here, so we thought ‘why not?’. "Cosmo has been the catalyst for so many romances over the years, this seems the perfect step for us. Our members love the club and love playing bingo so we feel it will make the perfect space for a real StalyVegas-style wedding."

The bingo hall must submit a winning application to Tameside council and pass related inspections.

Tameside council said the bingo hall would have to follow the application process which can take between four and eight weeks.
