Ring Discovered In Stomach Three Years After Offal Loss

A wedding ring has turned up at a butcher's three years after it was swallowed by a calf, the Herald Sun reports.

Back in 2009 a visitor was touring a dairy farm in Lang Lang in 2009 when the calf sucked the ring from the top of his finger.

Loch farmer Will Jelbart and his wife Sarah, who were managing the farm are calling for the visitor to come forward as the cow has now 'moved on to pastures new'.

Leongatha butcher Duane Thomas found the ring among the contents of the cow's stomach.

"It was quite a surprise. We were pretty excited. It's a wedding ring, so it's got sentimental value," Mr Thomas told the newspaper.
"We were quite lucky because we'd actually given up looking for it. We weren't 100 per cent sure if that was the cow that had swallowed the ring.It was a good find. There were 150kg of cuts we had to sift through to find it."

The gold ring is engraved with a date on it, if it is yours call the Herald Sun or the Weekly Times on 9292 2000, to get in touch with Mr Jelbart.
