Wedding Venue Runs Leap Day Competition

A Norfolk wedding venue is offering a couple the free use of their chapel to mark Leap Day, the day in which woman traditionally propose to men.

The Pennoyer Centre at Pulham St Mary is giving away the use of its historic Guild Chapel for any date up to the end of 2013.

Sheila King, chairman of the Pennoyer Centre, said the venue was a perfect for couples looking to have a small intimate wedding ceremony.

Email wedding@pennoyers.org.uk from Wednesday 29 February up to midnight on Saturday 3 March for a chance to win a free wedding venue booking.

After that date, they will pick out an email and the lucky recipient will win use of the civil wedding venue (value = from £500); the use of a separate room for formalities with the Registrar, and for use throughout the booking. The cost of the registrar and any related fees are not included in the booking.

The history of the inspirational Pennoyer Centre spans the Middle Ages, the Civil War, Victorian England and the 21st century. What was once a spiritual centre has evolved via a complex history of (sometimes dubious) trading, benevolence and schooling into a contemporary facility for business, community and heritage. Please see our history page for details of the Guild Chapel, time line and activities of William Pennoyer.

Architecturally, the award-winning building is a harmonious marriage of three different elements – 15th century Guild Chapel, Victorian school extension and 21st century atrium of steel, oak and glass. Multi-function in conception, the school rooms and old Chapel have been sympathetically restored.
