Kate & Wills Wax Figures To Mark Wedding Anniversary

William and Kate are to be immortalised in wax by Madame Tussauds to mark their wedding anniversary.

This April they will be giving guests the opportunity to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as stunning new figures of the hugely popular and much loved young Royals join our attraction. Work is well underway and the figures will be revealed in advance of their first wedding anniversary.

Catherine will be dressed in an exact copy of the stunning blue Issa London dress she wore on the day of the engagement announcement, exclusively created for us by the Issa design team. Catherine’s figure will also sport a painstakingly accurate recreation of the stunning sapphire and diamond engagement ring once worn by the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Prince William will be in a debonair navy suit.

New figures of the Royal couple will also be launched in three other Madame Tussauds attractions, with Catherine portraying a different style in each. Madame Tussauds New York will display the Duchess in a replica Alexander McQueen floor-sweeping gown from the BAFTA Brits to Watch Awards, Madame Tussauds Amsterdam will capture her recent appearance at the War Horse premiere where she wore a lace Alice Temperley number and Madame Tussauds Blackpool will show her in a stunning Jenny Packham dress from her appearance at the ARK Charity Dinner. All attractions have worked in collaboration with the designers of the original outfits to ensure total authenticity.

Madame Tussauds London, New York and Amsterdam will reveal their new figures on Wednesday 4th April with the Blackpool attraction following later in the month on the 18th.

Madame Tussauds enjoys a close relationship with the British Royal Family dating back to William IVth who was Monarch when the first attraction opened in London in 1835. The current Queen has been modeled by the attraction over 20 times and has given the studio team six personal sittings over the years. Their Highnesses have been closely involved and kept informed at every stage of the process.

Each figure will cost £150,000 to create and a dedicated team of sculptors and hair and colour artists will work for four months to achieve amazingly accurate likenesses.
