The couple, who share a 16-year age gap, have not been spending a lot of time together recently.
"Pete thinks the world of Ems, but they haven't been seeing much of each other lately," a source told new magazine.
"He's got his hands tied with the kids, his court battle with his ex-wife Jordan and all this promotional work.
"When they do get together, Emily wants to go out, but he's so exhausted he just wants to stay in.
"He's hoping it's nothing serious and they'll work it out because where there's a will, there's a way.
"They try to make time for each other, but it's difficult.
"Emily's in Bristol and Pete lives in Brighton when he's in the UK.
"They aim to see each other three times a week, but that's been virtually impossible recently."
