The singer, who divorced Ashley, 31, after 4 years of marriage in 2010, told Alan Carr on Channel 4 show Chatty Man, that he didn't say sorry to her after he was unfaithful: "It was frustrating. I think for him that would have been like admitting he was wrong and justified me leaving the marriage.
"Whereas if he didn't say anything he could pretend it wasn't happening."
Cheryl is now dating dancer Tre Holloway.
