The 27 year old star, who appeared in last summer's superhero comic-book flick The Avengers, broke up with Nate, who was also her ad executive, following a nine month relationship.
She was first spotted with 38-year-old Nate in January of this year, not long after splitting with fellow actor Sean Penn.
Pictures soon emerged of Johansson and Naylor on a romantic holiday together in Hawaii only a month later.
But the Hollywood star’s relationship with her ex was continuously dogged with rumours of her infidelity.
She was accused of having a wandering eye, and was spotted in June out and about with her He’s Just Not That Into You co-star Bradley Cooper.
An eyewitnesses told Heat magazine: "they looked totally wrapped up in each other. They were definitely having more than a 'friends' dinner."
The rumours were fuelled even further when Johansson was seen cavorting on a yacht in Italy with another young man.
Then in August, all seemed to be well again when Scarlett and Nate were photographed walking together through Paris. An inside source told Heat the relationship was doomed from the off-set.
The source said: "The writing was on the wall. A lot of people were surprised it lasted this long."
