The former Hannah Montana star says she thinks her dad, Billy Ray, is making up the rumours.
She told Entertainment Tonight: "I don't know what my dad is doing or where my dad is on the planet. My dad knows nothing. I don't know what he is making up... I hate to put him on blast, but he doesn't know what he's talking about.
"He does what I do when he's sitting in a press thing - he's like, 'Let's make this fun. Let's make stuff up. Let's get the ball rolling on some good rumours because I'm bored and I can start something.'"
Ms Cyrus has confirmed that, contrary to recent rumours, she is not having three weddings.
She was speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres show in the States and said that she would be looking forward to her own wedding day.
"This is the one day that it's what I choose and every detail is things that I love," she said.
"There is some rumour going around that I'm having, like, 47 weddings. I’m not. I'm having one wedding. That's my day and whatever I want on that day will be about me and that moment. That look of love.
"That moment when he first gets to see me in my dress and everything all together. It has to be perfect," she said.
"It has to be like a soundtrack in a movie. That's the one day where that movie crap is real. That romance. That look is the time that you get that...I've been to probably 10, 20 weddings and I've seen that real look five, six times. It's rare that people just stop to really look the person in the eye and know that this is your life together."
