Late Twenties Optimum Age For Marriage

Woman are now waiting until their late twenties to tie the knot.

Research from a YouGov poll shows that 53 per cent of British women believe the right time to get married is between 25 and 29.

Just 11 per cent of women think that 20 – 24 is the ideal age range for marriage while 18 per cent think saying 'I Do' aged 30 – 34 is the best.

Men agree with 44 per cent stating 25 – 29 is the right age to wed, 24 think 30 – 34 is the correct age range while just 1 in 10 men would opt for a young wedding between 20 and 24 years of age.

It is no longer seen as tradition that the father pays for the wedding but things have come a long way since then.

Now, it is believed that both the bride and groom should pay for their own wedding, with 55 per cent of people voting this way.

A rather large 30 per cent said that it was up to both sets of parents to pay for the weddings and only a tiny 5 per cent still believe it should be the bride’s parents who should fork out.
