Hathaway, who married Adam Schulman in September after four years together said having children is high up on the agenda.
She was taking part in the special Actress Roundtable covershoot for the Hollywood Reporter with Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Helen Hunt, Sally Field, Amy Adams and Marion Cotillard.
She said: "I really want to have a baby but my husband and I are like: 'Where are we gonna live?'
"I'm the only one here who's not a mother.
"I hope to join the ranks soon."
