Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso married in 2005 with a small-scale, private wedding.
It is believed the actor will be joined by family and a host of his famous friends, including George Clooney and his girlfriend Stacy Keibler, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.
The ceremony is expected to cost $1m is to be held at a resort on the island of St Lucia in the Caribbean.
News of the couple's plans to hold a renewal ceremony were first reported in February.
Damon met Argentine-born Barroso in 2003 when he was filming Stuck On You. The couple married in a private civil ceremony in December 2005 at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau.
The couple have three children together and Damon is also stepfather to Barroso's daughter from her previous marriage.
In 2011, the actor claimed that he and his wife have no "dramatic moments" and joked that he is happy to married because it keeps single women from pestering him.
