Speaking to Marie Claire magazine, the 28-year-old revealed what she would like when it comes to the big day.
She said: "I could have six fake weddings. God, that would be expensive. We're not big-wedding types. I don't need to have all that.
"I'm just trying to enjoy the engagement bit. My parents are together after 40 years. The fights are there, but they love each other. It's not like the first three months, the first two years, whatever it is, but I think it gets more interesting, or I hope so."
Knightly began dating musician Righton in February 2011 and the couple announced their engagement in May 2012. In the interview, she admitted that she didn't know Righton was famous when they were introduced by a mutual friend.
Righton is a co-vocalist and keyboardist for London-based band, Klaxons.

British actress Keira Knightly has said she will have a modest wedding when she ties the knot with partner James Righton.Speaking to Marie Claire magazine, the 28-year-old revealed what she would like when it comes to the big day.
