In a report in the Belfast Telegraph, the singer made the comments after saying there had been offers made to film the nuptials.
The 33-year-old proposed to fitness trainer girlfriend Lauren Kitt in February but they are yet to set a date for their wedding.
Speaking about the possibility of filming the ceremony, Carter admitted: "There have been offers and opportunities to film the actual wedding, like a TV show.
"I was up for it to a certain degree, but then at the same time, I might not even do that. We might just keep it private. We'll see what's up."
Carter added that they were thinking of tying the knot "early next year". The singer is currently recording a new album with the Backstreet Boys.
Carter and Kitt, who already co-star in a series of fitness webisodes called Kit Fitt, have been together for four years.
