The 35-year-old Welshman is said to have met his new partner 'by chance' after attending one of her Top Hat performances earlier this year, The Mirror has claimed.
It is understood Jones's mother took his parents to London's Aldwych Theatre in January, when his mother walked into Gooch's dressing room by mistake. Jones and his group of family and friends had been invited backstage by actor Tom Chambers, who also stars in the musical production.
A source said: "It was a bit of a strange first encounter, but despite that they hit it off straight away and stayed in contact. He asked her out on a date and they have been out several times since.
"They were trying to keep it a bit low key, but he has started telling people about her and seems really happy. It's only early days but all the signs are really positive."
Gooch is Jones's first girlfriend since he split from mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins in 2011.
The couple first starting dating in 2007. They announced their engagement in February 2011, but in December of that year, they confirmed they had ended their relationship.
