Miley Cyrus' father, Billy Ray Cyrus, has admitted he is unsure if his daughter's wedding will go ahead.
The singer made the comments during an interview with ABC News as he promoted his new book.
Cyrus was said to be tying the knot with actor fiancé Liam Hemsworth this summer, but rumours regarding the state of the couple's relationship has been the source of speculation since January when Hemsworth was alleged to have kissed actress January Jones at an Oscars party.
Shortly after the rumour, Cyrus was spotted without her engagement ring, while Hemsworth flew back home to his native Australia. However, recent claims have said the couple were working on their relationship.
Speaking to ABC News about his daughter's wedding continuing this year, Billy Ray said: "I don't know. I know as I was writing a book, I wanted to keep that particular moment [Miley’s wedding] as open-ended as possible. I didn’t know the answer.
"They're young, they're kids, the great news is they’re great friends, they're really good friends.
"I play it by ear, I know whatever's meant to be that's the way it's going to happen."
The admission comes after a source recently told Life & Style that the couple had delayed their June wedding.
They said: "They were supposed to get married in June. But there have been so many problems with them, they thought it was best to work out their issues before making such a big commitment."
Hemsworth proposed to Cyrus last year, after three years of dating.
