The 25-year-old rugby player's comments in an interview with The Sun, follow weeks of speculation that the couple had reunited.
The pair previously dated for two years before the split in 2010. Brook then went on to date another rugby player – Thom Evans – but the couple split earlier this year.
Speaking to the paper, Cipriani said they were now "getting to know each other again".
He said: "We've always spoken and always cared bout each other. It's about getting re-acquainted and making it work.
"I'm a bit older now, and living in Australia for a while really helped me grow up. She's a very positive person, she's not a big drinker and she's very supportive.
"I don't see how that could be a bad thing."
Brook uploaded a photo of the pair to her Instagram account in February, shortly after her relationship with Evans came to an end. Then, last month, the pair were reported to be house-hunting together, while Cipriani was also rumoured to be planning to propose to the Celebrity Juice star.
