It is the model's second child with her husband Tom Cohen.
The boy, named Phaedra, was born on Wednesday night on what would have been Geldof's mother's 54th birthday.
It is understood the 24-year-old was joined at the hospital by Cohen and her sisters Fifi, Pixie and Tiger-Lily.
A source said: "They are absolutely over the moon about their new arrival.
"It all went smoothly and Peaches will be in hospital for a while to recuperate. Bob Geldof is absolutely over the moon - the whole family are.
"They are particularly pleased about the significance of the date, as it makes Peaches feel she is keeping her mum's memory alive."
Peaches mum, Paula Yates, died of an accidental heroin overdose in 2000.
Peaches and her husband are already parents to Astala, who was born in April last year.
The couple married in September 2012 after announcing their engagement the previous December.

Peaches Geldof has given birth to a baby boy, according to The Sun.It is the model's second child with her husband Tom Cohen.
