Kerry Katona has spoken about her engagement to George Kay.
In an interview with Loose Women, the singer opened up about her relationship with the former rugby player.
The couple have known each other since they were teenagers, but Katona admitted that they would have "destroyed each other" if they had decided to get together when they were younger.
The 32-year-old explained: "We've both been down paths, and I think if we met when we were younger we'd have probably destroyed each other.
"We're now at a time in both our lives where we've both been through difficult things in life and we're good for each other. It would never in a million years have worked before."
Katona, who is a mum to four, also admitted to turning down her fiancé's first proposal.
She said: "We met when we were 14, and George first asked me to marry him when I was 17. George was very shy, which I thought was arrogance.
"I bumped into him last year in Warrington and he came walking over and I said, 'Hiya George, my you've grown'. And we've not left each other's sides since."
The couple revealed their engagement last month after Kay proposed to Katona at the top of Blackpool Tower.
