According to TMZ, documents reveal that an LA County Superior Court judge entered a final judgement for the divorce.
The couple first met on the set of Scream in 1995 and married four years later. They announced they had split after 11 years of marriage in 2010, but waited until 2012 to file for a divorce.
The pair remained friends since their separation, and in a statement at the time of their split, they said: "The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage. We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply.
"As we go though this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together.
"We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well."
Cox and Arquette have one child together, eight-year-old Coco, and both have requested joint legal and physical custody of their daughter.
