However, a new study has revealed that a third of Britons have never had a romantic meal cooked for them by their partner.
The research, which was carried out by Zoosk.co.uk, found that while 82% of men admitted to 'occasionally' cooking a romantic meal for their other half, most said they often cook the same dish over and over again, making it their 'speciality' dish. While 59% of those polled said they would eat anything their partner decided to cook for them.
When it came to impressing a partner with food, chocolate was the most popular choice, with 37% opting for the sweet option, while only 3% said they would be willing to try oysters.
A further 22% admitted that, despite having a meal cooked for them, they had actually spilled the dish over themselves.
Jane Barrett, Director of Marketing and Communications at Zoosk, said: "We hope our survey results encourage more people to experiment with their dishes when inviting a date over for dinner.
"When it comes to wooing a potential partner, however you choose to do it; food can certainly be a guaranteed way to impress."

The research, which was carried out by Zoosk.co.uk, found that while 82% of men admitted to 'occasionally' cooking a romantic meal for their other half, most said they often cook the same dish over and over again, making it their 'speciality' dish.
