According to a report by Digital Spy, the couple, John and Mathilda Fristrom Eldridge, arrived at the site's stone circle in their wedding outfits. John had 'Just Married' written on his back, while his new wife had tin cans tied around her waist.
The pair, who are from Newquay, Cornwall, got engaged two years ago in the field about the Park Stage. The couple were not able to marry at the ceremony, so they made the decision to have their ceremony in Mevagissey, Cornwall, at a register office, before having a wedding ceremony presided over by a friend who is a poet and writer.
Revealing their decision to come to the festival in their wedding get-up, 29-year-old Mathilda explained: "He proposed pretty much exactly two years ago today. It was such a big thing for us that we really wanted to come back to Glastonbury to celebrate.
"The proposal itself was such a surprise. I was working here and had a break so we went up the hill behind the park."
Her husband added: "I smuggled some Champagne in and had two rings, one for each of us, on a bracelet wrapped around the bottle. We then partied for the rest of the festival."
