It has been reported that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are planning a "lavish" Parisian wedding.
The couple welcomed their first child together in June, but sources close to the pair claim they are ready to tie the knot. They have been dating for just over a year, but West has been a friend of the family for a number of years.
Speaking to Us Weekly, an insider is quoted as saying: "He has told his friends and family that he was going to wide her since the day they met. And he is determined to do it."
They added that the arrival of their daughter, North West, had only moved to strengthen the couple's high-profile relationship.
"The baby has solidified their relationship," they explained. "They're doing really well. He (Kanye) has matured and grown a lot very quickly. He seems a lot more at peace. It's cool to see him so happy and calmed down. He's a natural father."
The 36-year-old rapper has not been married before, whereas his girlfriend has been married – and divorced – twice, and West is said to want to make the occasion one to remember.
Another source claimed: "he wants something really cool and big and over-the-top. They'll most likely have a destination wedding.
"Kanye has never been married before and wants a big wedding."
Rumours of Paris being the destination are also being mentioned, with the new father reportedly having a great love of the French capital.
West and Kardashian have been dating since April 2012. In December 2012, the couple confirmed they were expecting their first child together. 32-year-old Kardashian was previously married to NBA player Kris Humphries. The pair started dating in October 2010 and became engaged in May 2011. They married in a lavish ceremony in August of that year which was broadcast as part of the family's television show. However, just 72 days later the star filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences". Following a bitter dispute, their divorce was legally finalised in June 2013.
