It has been confirmed that Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards are engaged.
Confirming the engagement, the Edwards' mother Deborah told Real Radio: "Yes, it's true. They got engaged on Sunday and it's absolutely lovely.
"It's wonderful because Zayn is absolutely gorgeous and Perrie loves him to pieces. It's just perfect and they get on so well together."
"It's just fabulous."
The One Direction singer and his girlfriend sparked the rumours after Edwards was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her ring finger at the 'One Direction: This Is Us' world premiere in London last night (20 August).
A source is quoted by the Daily Mirror as saying: "It was so romantic – Zayn popped the question over the weekend when they were alone together. It's one of the first weekends they've spent with each other, as they've both been on tours with their bands. He wanted to wait for the perfect moment.
"All her bandmates were at V Festival, and she couldn't wait to tell them. They're all really excited for her, as the rest of One Direction are for Zayn."
Recently, 20-year-old Malik said his relationship with the Little Mix singer was "stronger than ever", following allegations earlier this year that he had cheated on her. Earlier this year, he also had a cartoon of his girlfriend tattooed on his upper right arm.
