Alec Baldwin On Fatherhood

Alec Baldwin has said the birth of his newborn daughter feels like a "second chance" for him.

The actor made the comments in an interview with People magazine, and he added that he would approach parenthood differently than he did with his now 17-year-old daughter, Ireland.

He said: "I feel like this is really a second chance for me, in a way."

Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Thomas, welcomed a daughter named Carmen in August. He is also a father to Ireland, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger. The couple ended their marriage in 2002.

Speaking about raising his elder daughter, the 55-year-old admitted: "I always thought I was a pretty good father. I felt I deserved more time with her and I felt that I could prove I deserved it.

"Are there things any one of us would do differently? Of course. But you can't go back. I'm a completely different person now than I was then."

Baldwin and his current wife Hilaria started dating in summer 2011. They became engaged in April 2012 and married that June in New York.
