Douglas And Zeta-Jones 'Staying Strong'

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are continuing to fight to save their marriage, it has been reported.

According to People magazine, the couple, who still aren't living together, are not giving up on their relationship.

The pair have been married for 13 years, but in August it was confirmed they are "taking time apart" in order to "evaluate and work on their marriage".

The source claimed the Hollywood actors are "not giving up", but while they won't be celebrating their birthday's together (25 September), they talk to each other several times a day.

Earlier this week, at the Emmy Awards, 69-year-old Douglas broke his silence over the news to say: "Catherine is great. She is doing wonderful, talked to her today [and] just got a lovely note from her. I'm very hopeful that we're going to work things out.

"As I said we're just taking a break, a couple issues, sometimes you gotta do that."

Douglas, 68, and 43-year-old Zeta-Jones have been married for 13 years.

They first met in France in 1998, before tying the knot in November 2000. They have two children together – Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10.
