Price and Penna dated for almost two years when their relationship came to an end. In an interview with Heat magazine, he said that Price had been in touch with him since the split, but that he didn't think she wanted to rekindle their romance.
He is quoted as saying: "This year has been very strange. When she found out she was pregnant, Katie wrote to me and said she'd wanted to have children with me. There was a sense of resentment from her.
"She told me 20 days ago that she missed me. I know that she's happy with Kieran and isn't looking for anything romantic, but we were close for a long time. She asked when I would be back in London but I didn't reply."
He then went on to criticise his ex-girlfriend, describing her as "very selfish" and warned Hayler that the former model "doesn't have feelings".
He added: "I found Katie a very demanding, a very selfish person. That's going to wear you out.
"They married very fast and relationships take a lot of effort and you have to maintain them.
"You can't act based on your heart because she doesn't live like that - she always acts based on her head. I don't think she has feelings."
Price and Hayler married in the Bahamas in January following a whirlwind romance. They later held a second wedding ceremony for their friends and family in March in Weston-super-Mare.
Price, who is mum to Harvey, 11, with footballer Dwight Yorke, and Junior, 7, and Princess, 5, with ex-husband Peter Andre, recently welcomed her fourth child – and first with Hayler – a baby boy, named Jett Riveria.
