The actress and her husband, Ned Rocknroll, welcomed their first child together at a hospital in England at the weekend, it has been confirmed.
The baby weighed 9lbs. No name has been announced yet.
The couple, who tied the knot in December 2012, announced they were expecting in June.
Winslet, 38, is already a mum to two children – Mia, 12, and nine-year-old Joe – from previous relationships.
A spokeswoman for the actress told People magazine that both mum and baby are "doing great" following the birth.
The actress married Rocknroll, the nephew of Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson, in New York last December, after almost 18 months of dating. She previously married director Jim Threapleton in 1998 and two years later the couple had a daughter, Mia. Following their separation in 2001, Winslet began a relationship with 'Skyfall' director Sam Mendes, and they married in 2003. Their son Joe was born the same year and the couple separated in 2010.
