The revelation came as Sharon spoke about the couple's relationship and their temporary separation earlier this year.
In an interview with Hello! magazine, the 61-year-old said: "It was something we'd never tried before. But actually, it just made Ozzy angry. We gave it a go, but it wasn't for us."
She explained that they were eventually able to sort out their issues with the help of their family.
The couple briefly split in April this year after Ozzy revealed he had relapsed and had started taking drugs and alcohol again. In an official statement at the time, the Black Sabbath rocker apologised to his family for his behaviour.
Ozzy, 65, and Sharon have been married for 30 years and have three children together – Aimee, Jack and Kelly.
