Christmas Is The Most Romantic Time To Propose

A new survey has revealed that Christmas is the most romantic time of the year to propose.

However, only if it is the man doing the proposal – as 65% revealed they would refuse their girlfriend if she popped the question.

The poll, which was carried out by Chillisauce.co.uk, found that 32% of respondents believed Christmas Eve was the most popular day of the year to propose with 32% of the vote, while New Year's Eve (9%) and Halloween (6%) were also considered romantic.

Overall, however, with 49% of the vote, the Christmas holidays claimed the top spot as the most romantic time of the year to ask the big question.

Elsewhere in the survey, almost 17% of men in the UK that have already proposed, have popped the question five times or more. Some 51% of women want their partner to keep it simple and just say 'Will you marry me?', while 15% of women feel that using technology is the best way to propose. For example, when asked which type of technology they would like their partner to use in their proposal, 29% of women said email, 27% said text message, while a phonecall came last with just 19% of the vote.

Lastly, it seems that chauvinism is still around as 65% of men confessed they would say no if their girlfriend popped the question.
