Their relationship hit the headlines after they began seeing each other just months after Klum filed for divorce from her husband Seal.
According to People magazine, the end of Klum, 40, and Kirsten's romantic relationship has also brought about the end of their professional relationship. However, the two are said to be determined to remain friends.
Klum first confirmed she was dating her bodyguard in September 2012, just weeks after her estranged husband allegedly accused her of cheating with Mr Kirsten.
At the time, the mum-of-four told talk show how Katie Couric: "I don't even know if I could call it [a relationship], you know, it has just started. I don't know, I don't know where it is going to go.
"Yes, yes, I've known him for four years and he's been with our family for four years. He's cared for our entire family, mostly for our four children.
"He's helped us tremendously, he's helped our children. I trust him with my children. We just got to know each other from a completely different side."
Klum and Seal started dating in early 2004. They were engaged in December of that year and married in May 2005 on a beach in Mexico. The couple have three children together; Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2. Klum is also a mother to eight-year-old Leni from a previous relationship.
