Dougie admitted to the Mail on Sunday Diary: "We've been seeing each other since last year. Ellie's a great girl, such a lovely person and a breath of fresh air in this industry."
He told the Daily Mail newspaper: "In the music industry you always bump into the same people, so it's nice when you get to meet other musicians you like and want to spend time with."
However the Dougie later denied the pair were in a relationship. He tweeted: "If your going to make something that I said up at least make me sound a little less flamboyant. Apparently I say 'breath of fresh air' these days."
Goulding also lashed out the newspaper and blast the story and captioned on Twitter: "How is a newspaper allowed to make up a random quote from someone about me. It's very naughty indeed."
