It was recently claimed that the couple, who have been engaged since August 2012, had hit trouble in their relationship and decided to call the wedding off, but a source said the pair still plan to walk down the aisle.
Speaking to British magazine Closer, a source is quoted as saying: "They've got a lot of issues, but Jen is committed to building a future with Justin – she just wishes it was easier. They did talk about the wedding, but seeing more of each other is their priority at the moment.
"And the more Jen thinks about it, the less she wants a big wedding with a lot of fuss. They joke that they're going to run off to the town hall and make it official quietly."
They added: "Jen is really trying to make the relationship work, but it's been difficult. She says it's as though they're living separate lives and the only solution is for her to move to New York, although she doesn't like it there. She hates the colder weather and feels cooped up in the city – she doesn't even like going out to visit.
"Justin feels the same about LA, but is willing to compromise and live there for six months of the year, but he expects the same from Jen in return."
Aniston, 45, and Theroux, 42, met as they filmed the movie Wanderlust. They started dating in 2011.
